We receive many emails and phone calls looking for information on how to get started in learning the art of pole dancing. We created this page with hopes that we’re able to answer some of the many questions that are out there. Of course feel free to send us an email if you have any additional questions.
Pole Dance Charlotte is a fun, flirty and effective alternative dance and fitness studio. We cater to all women and are committed to teaching pole dancing not only in a fun and flirty way, but also in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
The instructors of Pole Dance Charlotte consist of full-time students and everyday women just like you! All are experienced and/or certified and were hired based on their talent and passion for teaching the art of pole dancing. We are committed to making sure our students have FUN, are challenged and are able to meet their personal fitness and dance goals. This is why so many women have dropped their traditional gym workouts and switched to Pole Dancing to get FIT. It is truly a FUN way to get in shape!
Unfortunately, many consider pole dancing as taboo simply due to the fact that it originated out of the local strip clubs and that is very unfortunate. For those that choose to maintain this type of old-fashioned way of thinking, you are missing out on a great workout with a serious sensuous side, not to mention a fantastic way to lose weight and tone, while having far too much fun!
Q&A:
What class should I start with?
All non-members are welcome to try our 30-min. beginner Pole Sampler Class. See class schedule for available dates and times. There is no reservation needed to attend.
If I like the Pole Sampler class, how do I join?
You can join the studio the same day. In fact, we will credit the cost of your Pole Sampler class to your monthly membership!
How many classes can I take in a month?
Under our unlimited pay as you go membership, you can take as many classes as your schedule can handle! However, we suggest that you come in about 3-4 times per week to avoid exhausting yourself… pole dancing is a lot of FUN - hard work!
What should I wear?
Beginners & Pole Samplers:
· Capris, Yoga Pants or Shorts work just fine
· Comfortable t-shirt, or tank top
· Your highest heels in your closet! Don’t have any? No worries, you can borrow some of ours. Or… if heels aren’t your thing, just wear sneakers or socks.
· No bare-feet please!
Intermediate & Advanced Pole Dancers:
· Capris, Yoga Pants , Shorts. For safety on advanced moves and maximum body contact with pole, “booty” shorts are suggested.
· Comfortable t-shirt, or tank tops. For safety on advanced inverted moves or moves requiring your core and pole to connect, “sports bras” are suggested.
· Of course, your 5+ inch heels or boots for footwear
Important Note: It’s never a bad idea to bring a towel and a bottled water. If you are attending an Exotic Pole Fitness class… please feel free to bring your own yoga mat. The Studio has extra if you do not have one.
Lastly, please do not wear lotion prior to your class. This will make the pole slippery. Thanks! We look forward to seeing you in class!
